American Honda Motor Co., Inc. announced recently that their Honda division has established another sales record, this one for January sales of 97,178 vehicles – a 7.7 percent gain over last year's results.

Having posted a third straight yearly sales records in 2016, Honda kicked off 2017 with yet more records. Truck sales amounted to 51,337, which marks an increase of 30.2 percent over January 2016 and sets a new January record. CR-V shattered its previous January best numbers, growing 52.5 percent on sales of 29,287 vehicles, and HR-V sales jumped 36.2 percent on 5,689 vehicles sold.

Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division, said in a release, "Our conservative approach to growth was criticized when the industry was growing faster but it is clearly paying dividends now as industry sales are flattening. A steady cadence of products and disciplined sales tactics is the right approach for customers and dealers."
